I'm convinced that the tremendous advances in safety that NASCAR has instituted are responsible for Michael McDowell's surviving the horrific crash last Saturday in Texas. Dale Sr. will always be MY HERO, and as long as there's NASCAR, he will remain so with millions of other fans as well.
