The year is winding down, and tons of excitement is to be had!!!

I predict Jeff Gordon and Tony will both get thier wins in these final ten races. Jeff at Dover, and Tony in high drama fashion, with a close run at Homestead.  Shrub (Kyle Busch) will get a couple wins in here.  And Cousin Carl at Atlanta. We will also see David Ragan get his first win in here.

Edwards have been quietly making noise on the circuit, but in a good way this year. Tony Stewart finished second and Jimmy Johnson finished third. Kyle Busch finished 36th and watch some of his point lead shrink.

TNT definitely improved! I enjoyed listening to Kyle Petty. Now on to a new set of announcers and a new network.

And speaking of new, there are some new teams coming up for 2009. I think Tony will do GREAT as a team owner/driver. He has grown so much with the sport and is obviously a great study of how to do things right. I will miss him in the Orange car, but as with Junior I will adjust!

First came the confrontation between Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch during practice for the Bud Shootout, for which both drivers were put on probation for the first six Cup races. But true to its promise of returning "back to the basics" (or, in other words, allowing drivers to freely express their emotions as in days of old), NASCAR did not punish Stewart or Busch for their verbal or alleged physical combat while meeting with officials.

orade 150, with Joe Gibbs' Denny Hamlin (in a Toyota, of all things) victorious, while teammate Tony Stewart claimed victory in the season's first Nationwide race in Daytona.

Then came the Daytona 500--Ryan Newman taking the checkered flag in a Dodge, the first since Ward Burton's victory in 2002.
